2010-2011 Equipment Report

Mark Duchesne reports that “2010 was a rebound year for Alliance Machine Systems International that exceeded our expectations.  Key to our 2010 success was our ability to deliver precisely engineered solutions to box manufacturers all over the world, helping them implement the efficiency enhancements needed to compete in a recovering global economy.  We thank our customers for their business in 2010 and look forward to working with them in their continuous pursuit of productivity excellence in 2011.

Operationally, we completed the building expansion in Spokane which has increased our capacity and improved efficiency.  The relocation of the J&L™ product to Spokane is complete with production now fully integrated into our advanced manufacturing systems.  The streamlining of our European subsidy, Alliance Machine Systems Europe, is complete and our European team has built-up their sales, service and technical support capabilities including the addition of many high-value retrofits and services.

With the only complete line of advanced technology prefeeders in the industry, we have added features to our FeedMAX™ and FEEDMASTER® High Speed Top Feeder making them capable of unprecedented speeds and fully capable of supplying state of the art 300-400 kpm converting equipment with a steady stream of conditioned board.  Enhancements to our ultra-high performance ACCUSTAK® have improved process reliability, making it the only RDC stacking system that is truly designed for sustained, high-speed performance.

Given these process improvements on the front end of the finishing machine, we haven’t forgotten the back end of the line.  With several sold and installed, the Modular Load Former™ is proving to be the highest productivity, semi-automatic load forming solution available.  The reintroduction of the ALF® Jr. provides fully automated high productivity on select stacking patterns and allows semi-automatic operations on more complex patterns.  The Q-Series Palletizer™ remains the market leader in terms of speed and load quality.  Our application engineers can tailor a system to meet your needs.

With shelf-ready packaging and multi-panel boxes emerging in the market, the Tanabe Tri-Feeder™ is perfectly suited to help our customers cost effectively enter this market segment.  The Tri-Feeder can be installed in front of an existing specialty gluer, with the option to run independently or as an integrated system.  In the domestic market, the J&L, and its proven design, remains the market leader in set-up times and speeds.  In Europe, the Tanabe Specialty Folder Gluer maintains the perfect balance of price and performance.  No European gluer makes a better box than the Tanabe.

With thousands of Alliance machines producing billions of square feet of quality corrugated products, Alliance also offers the industry’s most comprehensive array of retrofits, training and services to upgrade and further enhance existing systems.  Our geographically distributed service team can stop by whenever you call.

As we enter the second decade of the second millennium our focus and energy will be spent on delivering “Intelligent Productivity”.  We look forward to working with all of our global customers to reach new levels of performance and wish all our customers and colleagues in the industry a highly productive and prosperous 2011.
